A Welcome Embrace

Walking along a crowded street one summer day,
in remembrance of past memories just like yesterday.
When much younger and not as wise about romance,
left to stand alone while others joined in the dance.
Lost within dreams of adventures that remain untold,
with confidence future times will be filled by gold.
Content to fly upon the wind high above lofty clouds,
bathed in the warm sunlight away from noisy crowds.
Given a chance for love which should last an eternity,
though unable to recognize lacking needed clarity.
Blinded by the world's problems with profound mystique,
which overpowers senses until all else seems oblique.
Ending up alone even though surrounded by friends,
whose names aren't remembered after it all ends.
Left wandering alone on the path chosen for life,
in search of a warm embrace to ease eternal strife.
