Away from the heartache of losing faith in humanity,

even though hope exists to overcome life's disparity.

Seen in a child's eyes with parents standing overhead,

as it lays quietly sleeping unaware of fear and dread.

Safe in arms which protect this gift of newborn life,

that it may grow up to maybe bring relief from strife.

Greatly needed so the next generation might flourish,

without worry about past mistakes that people admonish.
