Back at the beginning

Chasing after a dream which promises great rewards,

even though needs are simple often fulfilled by words.

Following advice from others with lives without compassion,

who think themselves as objects of people's obsessions.

While only fools with delusions about what's important,

in regards to life and things which should be relevant.

Always keep tour eyes looking forward towards tomorrow,

along a path where often there's often found sorrow.

Pleasure and pain are both part of an ongoing journey,

in which you travel to find purpose along with destiny.

Trust that your heart will guide through every ordeal,

even if chances arise seeming too good to be real.

Leading down a path where only disaster does await,

and you find yourself alone with nothing left to anticipate.

A few years older but having learned life isn't fair,

back at where you started adrift on currents of despair.
