Changing Tides

Looking out upon a forest of endless flowing green,
within which animals live in nature quiet and serene.
Though the future seems unsure given today's society,
needing space to expand as we grow in our inhumanity.
Forgetting lessons of the past once made by forefathers,
when first venturing into lands belonging to others.
abundant in beauty which hid dangers before unseen,
behind landscapes of wilderness terrain most inviting.
Disappearing as people came in masses ever flowing,
while trees were destroyed to make space for growing.
Until little remained of the paradise that once existed,
with their homes laid bare like something to be digested.
Given time to grow again when no longer man abides,
and nature returns as it was with the changing tides.
Which sweep across landscapes in waves most profound.
as balance is restored so paradise might be found.
