Semantics

During the course of conversations statements made,

can lead to problems when taken in a different shade.

The jargon may be improper by people easily wounded,

to innuendos and jokes about things better left unsaid.

Meanings differ between simple words we say carefree,

even if thought harmless depending how you see.

With so many cultures it's hard to find common ground,

while confusion and mistrust are always easily found.

Change must be accepted for children in this age,

like starting another chapter written on empty page.

Filled by those who inherit the world after we depart,

hopefully better than when our story first did start.
